Lines, Lines, Lines, Those Damn Lines

I was watching "Entertainment Tonight" not because I like that sort of stuff. Well I sort of do, but I don't make it a point to watch it on television--I read it while waiting to pay for groceries at Krogers. Again, I digress--one of the stories was about Tom Selleck. He was described as sexy even at the age of 60 (don't quote me on his age, I was not really listening). When they showed this sunbeaten hairy man, he didn't seem sexy to me. He can never beat the week of the Hoff presented by Mr. Shife. The thing that struck me was all the age lines on this actor's face. They were creased like a sheet of loose leaf made into a paper airplane by a first-grade boy. He had this one gaping line perpedicular to his eyebrows that could mimic the grand canyon. The make-up department from his new movie couldn't even hide the gash. In the clip of his new movie, I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I couldn't even tell you who else was in the clip (I know he was asking out a blonde chick because they first focused on her) or what the clip was about.

As for me, I don't ever want to have creases in my face. I will inject botox into it before I have that weather worn, ,beef jerky look that horrified me into looking up from the Harry Potter novel I was reading during the E.T. interview with the former Magnum P.I. celebrity/dried cow hide/dog chew toy.

This was suppose to be posted the morning after the great Texas-USC game. But in all the excitement, I couldn't sleep till 4 a.m. I didn't wake up till about noon. AWESOME GAME!

  • tom selleck is kinda sexy for his age, as is sean connery...and as for the creases...much sexier than that plastic look, like bert renolds- yikes! lol

  • That was a great game. It is strange how the media went from slobbering over Reggie Bush to slobbering over Vince Young. They say wrinkles are a sign of distinction but it's not the kind of distinction that I am aiming for either.

  • Angel- Botox? Tom Selleck used to be an alcoholic who spent way too much coked out of his mind while sunbathing without sunscreen. You are not going to be that wrinkly!

  • I bet you'd still look cute even at 60! And you will be crease-free sans botox!

  • If you play with fire, you're gonna get a summons.

  • C'mon - you mean you wanna look like Burt Reynolds? I swear, the man is now incapable of any expression...

  • I'm scared to look up his picture on google, now. Thanks. *shivers*

  • are you serious about botox? because if you are, you must be the first male to admit it!

  • First of all, Hook 'Em, a thousand times over. This is one of the greatest weeks of my life.

Now, Tom Selleck. He is totally one of my heroes, but only because of the stache. That thing exudes "I don't give a damn" masculinity. I love it.

  • Normall I'm picky about staches, but it certainly looks good on Mr. Selleck:-) You'll age gracefully b/c of your sense of humor! No need for Botox!

  • Maybe because I am married or maybe because I am getting older but I don't worry about my wrinkles so much. I just don't want back hair or a giant bald spot on the top of my head. So far so good, but I have seen some of these older dudes and it is like at a certain age they just seem blossom back hair. I don't ever want to see that day.

  • Now I will be focusing on that creavas next time I see him. Someone pointed out the crooked nose that Owen Wilson has, now that is what I focus on when I see him.
I will be thinking of you when I look at Tom Selleck! hahaha

  • i saw that episode too, haha. he's not that bad. not downright sexy, but something about tom is rather attractive still. btw, nice blog. my sister's in med school as well. i don't know if she's gonna make it.

  • Poor Tom, shooting all those scenes for Magnum PI in Hawaii out in the unforgiving sun. That'll wrinkle your nose and face faster than a stinking gas station restroom. Happy New Year!

By Blogger Walter, at 7:11 PM

  • Aw, don't be to hard on Tom, he does have a certain...something!

By Blogger Tai, at 11:19 PM

  • The game was a bit too exciting for me. Never thought Magnum was a good looking guy. I think he appeals to beauty of an older generation. Now the lookers tend to have a softer less testosterone look, except Brad Pitt. I think he’s gonna look like a leather bag (Robert Redford) some day too

  • link right ahead :). do those crest whitestrips work? i might look into that.

By Blogger j, at 1:13 AM

  • In its day, I liked watching Magnum PI, but I never really went for Tom Selleck's look.

The good thing though about being a guy is that "wrinkles" can translate to "ruggedly handsome".

  • Botox schmotox, dude. I don't even want to think of that until I'm like Phyllis Diller or something. I haven't seen Selleck lately so I have no clue how bad he's looking these days. Sounds pretty bad.

I just spilled beer on the keyboard so I'm done here.

  • I think that if you eat healthy and live a healthy lifestyle that you will age well.

That's what I'm hoping for at least.

I don't know that I would want Botox but I would really like to be able to afford a facial and a massage twice a month.

By Blogger Sweet Tea, at 2:13 PM

  • You know...I've never really thought Tom Sellek was that cute. Now Pierce Brosnon...well. That's a whole other story!

By Blogger Lindsey, at 10:57 AM

  • Age lines and wrinkles do suit some faces. Sometimes I find wrinkled faces very beautiful.
I feel there are more things than looks that might make a person seem sexy. I find all smart women sexy ;-)

  • Does that botox stuff work? good post man.

By Blogger Chairborne Stranger, at 8:42 PM

  • thank you sir :)

By Blogger j, at 10:53 PM

  • i personally am learning to love my wrinkles.
