Not To Judge

As I logged onto the net this afternoon, one of the first stories trending is about a man who slapped a baby on an airline flight. The baby was not his, but the child of another passenger on the flight. According to the report, the man became irritated at the baby's crying during the flight and he slapped the baby with an open hand to quiet him. Hmmm, I don't think physically assaulting a baby is going to quiet the kid down. Secondly, what grown man hits an infant? Thirdly, WTF? What has become of this world? In what dimension, in what universe is this acceptable behavior? The lawyer of the defendant has asked that the story should let itself play out, before we make a judgement. Does anyone else think that it's too late to ask the public not to judge? Here is an innocent kid, crying for whatever reason he was crying...scary sounds, unfamiliar environment, cabin pressure, strangers around him...whatever the reason, an infant is not capable of expressing their thoughts. However, a grown man is...and yes, it may be irritating for a kid to be crying and there is not another room from which to escape, but this is a kid we are talking about. Get over it. Wow, I am still reeling from the absurdity of this story.
