How Much Does Insuring Sanity Cost?

I went out drinking this weekend and heard one of the funniest conversations take place. I could only hear one end of the conversation, but it was pretty hilarious to hear it.

Some person was on the phone talking drunkenly (is that a word) loud.

This person said "I am not going to insure you again!!! Everytime I go out, I have to insure you".

There was silence and then, "Part of trusting me is letting me go out with my friends. I shouldn't have to insure you about this."

Silence again as the other person took this in and then, "I am tired of insuring you. Goodbye".

I bought another drink as a toast to them.

Wedding!

My cousin gets married in a month. And I'm really excited. I am not excited that he's getting married, although I am happy for him. I like his fiancee/wife to be. I don't think he could find a better match if he tried (even through one of those professed guaranteed match making companies with the cheesy testimonials). She's perfection, if I could use that word to describe her.

But the thing I am excited about is having a sort of family reunion. Is it wrong for me to use this arena to reconnect? I haven't seen a lot of my cousins, uncles and aunts in so long and I would love to be able to talk to them again. Hopefully I will be able to hold my liquor. I am sure there will be a lot of it (my cousin knows how to hold his alcohol and drink it and hold it some more).

So I have something to look forward to....at least for now.

Bank Charges

I recently used an ATM that was not my banks. When I got my bank statement, I got the shock of my life. They charged me four dollars for the balance inquiry. Can you believe that? Four bucks to ask how much I had left after I had ravaged my previous balance. I wasn't even warned that I would be charged a fee for balance inquiry. I just hit the button and zoom, it went straight through.

When I have taken money out before, I was always warned that the terminal would charge me a fee and that maybe my bank would also charge me a fee too. I could accept that. However, to charge me an inquiry fee without letting me know in advance, that is an enema without a warning.

Projects

One of my really good friends Karen has started working on a project which will include me. No, it's not a study of insanity or deranged personalities. She is actually working on a charitable organization which will involve helping the underpriveledge through Catholic religious based projects. And she is going to use me as a founding board member!

I'm really excited about seeing this project get off the ground. I'm not sure if I can say anymore since it's pretty much in the brainstorming stage and she still has to get funding and approval and all that stuff.

That's it for now!

Passing Time

Wow, it's been awhile since I last wrote. And it's not like I have been passing a whole lot of time playing the D.S. But I have been playing it during most bored hours---Phantom Hourglass is fun, but I think I like Mario and Sonic at the Olympics better. Plus the version of Guitar Hero looks fun (but I think it would be more fun on a console system--possibly the Wii).

Another thing I've been doing is watching old episodes of "The Office" on-line. Good stuff, very funny and relieves all stress. I recommend everyone watch this show!! I have no idea how it escaped me!!

Other than those in my life, everything else is fine.

One of my good friends wants to plan a trip to Las Vegas and I am excited about it. Not sure about the details yet, but Las Vegas? Who can say no to a road trip. Well it isn't exactly a road trip since we're planning to fly out there. I don't think we are even going to rent a car since it will be easy to get around with hotel shuttles and taxis. Very excited for this!!
